 On the occassion of Golden Jubilee celebrations the residents and staff initiated  a fruit, vegetable and herbal garden behind the main residential block. Each of the resident and staff adopted a  fruit tree and planted it in the garden. The  fruit trees planted are Chikoo, Guava, Lemon, Papaya, Seethapal, Ramphal, Coconut, Jamun, Cherry, Jack fruit, Banana etc.Trees are being watered regularly and they are growing...

 Ms.Lalitha a polio victim who has been with us in the old age home for the last 30 years developed complications arising out of acute diabetes. She lost blood circulation in both her legs and had to be operated to avoid complication of gangrene. Both her legs from the knee were amputated at Manipal Hospital. She has recovered and there ls lot of improvement with daily medical care.

We had a Memorial Service for Mrs.Veronica Das. Residents, ex-residents, staff, Committee members, Donors, friends &  her relatives were present for the service. Air Marshal P.K.Dey, 2 of the ex residents and one of the residents and Chairman recalled  the good things she has done for the residents of Cheshire Home.

The Sir M.V.collage  celebrated their annual day. Few of our  residents who are studying in that college have  participated in the program.  Ms.Ayesha & Priya  were given prizes for face painting and singing.

 

Mrs VMA Das (Twinx), wife of Late Gp Capt Suranjan Das died at about 2030 hrs, 28 December 2010. Mrs Veronica Das was 88 years old.

 Priya, a resident of the Home for 20 years  secured first class in B.Com 5th semester. She is student  of  Sir M.V College.She has been a 1st class student right through the college degree program.

Poornima  a resident of the Home for  13 years is also studying in the same college. She has secured first class in the B.Com 4th semester.
