Pongal was celebrated in a traditional way, they had a special pooja ,lunch was served in a typicial south Indian style.
The residents were busy as they were all decked up decorating the home & practicing carols.On the 23rd & 24th the residents were invited by the Oeroi hotel for carol singing & lunch, on the 23rd the residents (the choir girls) went for carols at the hotel, after the carol singing they were given a hi- tea and were dropped back home....
In the evening the residents decorated the front courtyard with colourful rangoli and lit lamps. They dressed in new clothes for the auspicious occassion . Donors started arriving and they joined the residents in the festivities. They lit sparklers and burst crackers.

Members of Indiranagar Rotary Club and Rotractors marked their Independence day by sharing their joy with the residents of our Old Age Home at Whitefield. They interacted with the residents and spent time with some of the bed ridden ladies. They distributed sarees and hosted lunch comprising many dishes. After lunch the ladies entertained the Rotary Club members by singing songs. ...
